This Week’s Quotation:
What is a prayer? A prayer is a thought that possesses the quality of directed intention. It’s holding a specific outcome in our minds with the objective of connecting to a greater power or assistance.
~ Dr. Joe Dispenza
It Really Seems Like a Good Time for Prayer
The question is, are we always clear what we are praying for?
The more ancient texts show that in the beginning, prayer was focused on already anticipating the outcome, knowing that the prayer is fulfilled when offered, and the outcome is trusted in advance.
That would also suggest that we want to be very clear on what we are praying for. It is often recommended that all prayers be focused on outcomes that are for the good of all. That can be tricky, as in our world it can look like what is good for one, may not be good for all. And so, what if prayer is focused on, for example, health for all—for the planet and all living things?
There may be better plans for your prayers. What we may want to be aware of most is that all of our thoughts are essentially prayers, and we send them out consistently, all day long. It might be a big help to each of us to personally pay very close attention to just what the majority of our thoughts are, do they serve us? Are they kind? Will they help the world? Or, will they hurt us, or hurt the world?
Dr. Bruce Lipton discovered that health, happiness, and all good (or bad) things in our lives begin in the environment we provide our cells, and a major portion of that environment is what we think and what we say.
So, my prayer today is that we all are sending blessings by what we think, what we say, and what we do. Our prayers radiate love without concern for results.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Yes. Many thanks, Katie. Without concern for results! Prayer is not only the answer but a way of life. May I be consistently in CLEAR prayer or radiance and blessing, not of endlessly trying to fill needs and force outcomes. Loving thanks to you, Katie, and all who read. Love, tom
I love this Katie. “To pray without ceasing” is a term I have used by some of my most precious teachers and mentors. That means that every breath, every step, every thought is dedicated to the Greater Good. In service to the Most High. Sometimes my prayers have no words, and I can only fill my heart and mind with Divine Essence and that is a prayer.
Prayer is actually a form of Attunement, a way of sending blessings to our immediate environment and our world. Thanks for bringing this truth, Katie.
