This Week’s Quotation:
Mark the season of Advent by loving and serving others with God’s own love and concern. It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you.
~ Mother Teresa
Christmas Spirit
This third week of Advent, we honor that the Christ Spirit lives within all of us, no exceptions. Each of us is an extraordinary vehicle, just as Jesus Christ was, for expressing spirit through form.
So, there’s no time like now to be an agent for that truth and welcome the Christ Spirit to work in and through us. There’s no day like today to take a stand for love. Let’s use every experience as an opportunity to bring the blessing of that awareness to all that we contact.
Now that we have awakened to the true nature of all being and we are able, as Christ was, to see the unity behind the diversity, we also understand that phenomena are just phenomena. Whatever presents itself to us, we can choose to perceive it within the great cosmic grace of life. As we free ourselves of the dramas of separation, we can support others in doing so.
This Christmas season, let us not underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, or the smallest acts of compassion. Let us choose love over and over and over again.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Loved this quote from Mother Theresa:
It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you.
As you note, Terri, during the holiday season human hearts and minds are more open than any other time to receiving the gift of love. So let us passionately and radiantly give that gift to everyone we encounter directly and also spread it through our heart connections with the whole body of humanity.
So beautiful!! This Christmas season, let us not underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, or the smallest acts of compassion. Let us choose love over and over and over again.
