The Treasure in Your Heart

I am wondering, if we look into our hearts at this moment, what does your world need now? In this moment, what is it your heart is seeking? And do you belong to that which you seek? Or have you discovered that the one who is seeking is the only thing that can ever be found?
So where is the treasure in your heart in this moment? Your treasure is simply that to which your heart now belongs, and that which your heart more deeply longs for. What does your heart now belong to? If I can say “I am in heaven,” then this heart belongs to heaven, and that cannot be taken away by anything of the earth. In this heart, there is a deep belonging to stillness and silence. That belonging has no need for quietude, but rather sees and delights in wondrousness for anything that emerges from such profound, invisible stillness and silence. Nearly anything can be experienced as wondrous and joyful, when the heart belongs to a heavenly silence, no matter what emerges from that sacred center.
So, seeing belonging in this manner, as the treasure in one’s heart, let us trace the Seven Steps To the Temple of Light: One who belongs to Patience has no need for anything to look or feel any certain way, and no need to control. One who belongs to Tranquility has no need for placidity, no need to be free from turbulence. One who belongs to Realization abides in the realization of true presence, with no need for that to become anything in particular. One who belongs to Assurance abides in true faith, with no need for any sense of false hope. One who belongs to Radiance constantly serves to illuminate the field, with no need for that to be evident or proven to anyone in any way. One who belongs to Wisdom abides in the knowing of reality with no need to receive any recognition whatsoever for it. And one who belongs to Love, as Uranda says, “…seeks for nothing because Love is all things. Love bargains not because Love has need of nothing. Love is never lonely because Love is Oneness With the All That Is.”
As it says in Matthew 6, belonging to such treasure in the heart cannot be touched by anything of the earth, and becomes a blessedness of the heart, emerging from within, that is both unconditional and inviolate. What is the treasure in your heart?

I think you’ve made it so clear, Oren, that we are here not only to lay up treasures in heaven but to bring those heavenly treasures into the earth of our living. Surely we are not here to “get the most out of life,” but to “give the most into life.”
