This Week's Quotation:
"One man told me, 'I am an atheist,' but he spoke so beautifully about love. Where there is love, there is God. God is love."
~Mother Teresa
God Is Alive in You and Me!

Jerry Kvasnicka, Wired for Love
I think many who consider themselves atheists are simply registering their dissatisfaction with the concepts of God that have been developed by human beings i.e. the idea of a beneficent Being up there or over there somewhere in the sky that occasionally reaches down into human affairs or seems to answer a fervent prayer.
Even after graduating from seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and ready to become a “minister of the gospel,” something about a remote and distant God just didn’t resonate with me. Church authorities sensing this refused to ordain me and I became an activist in what was then called the “God Is Dead Movement.”
In an act that required considerable courage I agreed to participate in an “Is God Dead?” debate with a minister who taught a Sunday school class of over 500 members. As I recall, most of my remarks were met with lots of booing from the huge crowd and the minister was royally cheered. But I think a few actually agreed with what I was attempting to convey.
Of course God is not dead, but if we only relate to God as a concept that separates God from us, then the spiritual work that we are here on earth to do as representatives of God is seriously diminished. God desires access to the world and to achieve that He created human beings in His “own image and likeness.”
So let us be the Living Presence of God in action on earth, radiating the Love that is our nature and proving once and for all to all creation that GOD IS ALIVE!
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Yes, God is alive and present, every moment, within us. Thank you for your words, Jerry!
