From a High Place

In this simple sentence, Steve has presented what I think is the key to conducting our spiritual work on earth. Are we coming from a level of vision where we can creatively engage with what is happening in the world and in our personal lives without being attached to it?

Our spiritual awareness may be likened to a mountain. Spiritually, we belong at the top of the mountain or at least high up on its slopes. If the chaos that is swirling at the base of the mountain can lure us down there and involve us in efforts to somehow fix it at that level, we render ourselves spiritually useless.

There is a weekly program that I listen to from the British Broadcasting Corporation called “Fixing the World.” Various potential solutions to world problems are presented, usually involving some of the latest discoveries in science, technology, and artificial intelligence. But I think it would be terribly tragic if we could somehow fix the current state of human dysfunction and perpetuate its existence!

No, we are here for regeneration and transformation, clearing away the contamination and corruption in the subconscious mind of humanity that has built up over centuries of subhuman function. It is all coming to the surface now, but we cannot allow ourselves to slip down from our high place on the mountain to react and do battle with it.

Only the ordering power of Love and the creative process of life, streaming from Universal Being, can do the job. We connect with this power and make it operative at the human level as we stay absolutely true to our Higher Selves in concert with the emerging spiritual body of awakened leaders on earth.
