This Week's Quotation:
"We do not need guns and bombs to bring peace, we need love and compassion. Let us radiate the peace of God, shining His light and extinguishing all hatred and love of power in the world."~Mother Teresa
War Does Not Bring Peace

Jerry Kvasnicka, Wired for Love
As is usually the case, many wars are raging on earth now, perhaps most notably conflicts in the Middle East, Africa and Ukraine. And I’m sure that the ultimate motivation and purpose of those who start and participate in these wars is to bring about a state of peace.
How crazy! How dysfunctional! The human mind separated from the creative process of Life thinks that the only way peace can come is by war! After thousands of years of wars on this planet, will we ever learn that peace does not come in this way?
Mother Teresa refers to “hatred and love of power.” I would also mention fear and greed as primary motivations. We can do something about this. While we can’t directly stop world leaders from pursuing their ambitions, we can make sure that in our personal lives we are radiating the peace of God and shining His light.
Because we are one with the whole body of humanity, we all feel the impact of the wars going on, even if we don’t watch the news. So what can we do to ease the pain in ourselves and others? Once again, it all comes down to the words of that familiar song: “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”
There is a realm where there is no war. Tune out the noise around you. Focus on the stillness of Being, the higher realm of Heaven above this lower realm of form. Breathe in that peace and let it cross over into your world with an outbreath of blessing, thereby implanting it in your consciousness and the consciousness of humanity. This is our sacred mission.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Focus on the stillness of Being – thank you Jerry – so true and so meaningful…..
