This Week’s Quotation:
The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being.
~ Dalai Lama
The Expansion of Compassion
In times of grief, fear, and need we are learning, or relearning, a universal truth. Everything is transitional—our existence, all that we hold dear, all that we believe gives our life meaning.
Thank you Source, God, El Shaddai—in all your names—for allowing us to open more fully to the knowledge that we are all One. There is no separation.
There is what we create together knowingly and unknowingly. Thank you for letting us know what You Know. We are learning to stay curious, one of the gifts bestowed on us from the beginning. We are now starting to remember that we are not trapped in any identity. We are free of old expectations and open to life without guidelines that no longer serve us. We are finding our true freedom to extend ourselves, offer our best, and know ourselves from a greater standpoint.
We are learning to release dissatisfaction and instead embrace gratitude as we expand our own capacities to reach out, offer what we can, accept what we need, and love the moment. We are creating a new version of what gives our lives meaning and satisfaction.
Day after day we can see the possibilities of what life is meant to be. By the hundreds, and by the thousands, we are stepping up to serve, to help, to love and bless each other.
We are in an age of the expansion of compassion, in a time of renewal, and we are blessed.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Thank you, Katie! Your words help me to remember and say thanks! So much love and gratitude for you and your bright spirit!
Even in a world where conflict, corruption and human suffering are so pervasive, we are in a time of expanding compassion, a time to step up “to serve, to help, to love and bless each other.” Thank you, Katie, for describing to beautifully what we each can do to help bring this world back into alignment with the ordering power of Love.
Daer Katie
Its a gentle blessing to have read your words of compassion when I woke up this morning.
To bless the people in my field- i also need to be honest in expression to them-when they violate the truth.
Love Irene
Thank you Katie,
It is a beautiful reminder that compassion is one of the highest emotional states and attitudes one can cultivate, and it serves as the foundation for ethical living and personal development.
Thank you for reminding us that compassion is not just a feeling but also involves actively helping others to relieve their suffering and that genuine compassion leads to service through action.
With Loving-Kindness,
Justin
