This Week’s Quotation:
It is time for us to step into spiritual adulthood and realize the true meaning of co-creationism: our divine light working with the divine light within creation. It is up to us: if we do not take this step, a door will remain closed, and the soul of the world will know the despair of a lost opportunity.
~ Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, Sufi teacher and author
Spiritual Adulthood
I think Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee really nails it for us and the world. Surely humanity has been around long enough to know that attempting to govern life on earth apart from the creative process of life just doesn’t work. Yet many human beings continue to languish in spiritual infancy, even lapsing into the dark ignorance of destruction and death.
We’re witnessing a particularly blatant example of this right now with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Will we know “the despair of a lost opportunity” or thriving life emerging from a spiritually regenerated humanity? I have faith in our ability to create the second option.
After all, there are countless examples of prejudice and psychosis in our world. We could easily invest our time and energy bemoaning them. Certainly, we can’t deny them. I don’t think God is asking us to do that. I believe God is asking us to view these things from a different perspective—the perspective of Love.
That perspective aligns with Vaughan-Lee’s assertion that it is time “to step into spiritual adulthood.” We can forever abandon the childish notion that might makes right and embrace the cosmic law that Light makes right—the Light of Truth streaming from the ultimate power source of creation: the ordering power of Love.

About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world’s sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
