This Week's Quotation:
"I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much."
~ Mother Teresa
I Can Handle Anything!

Jerry Kvasnicka, Wired for Love
We might find these words from Mother Teresa to be rather amusing. Yes, we might wish that God didn’t trust us so much! Some of the challenges that come to us in the course of our lives may seem to call for an inner strength and resilience that we are unable or unprepared to give. Whether it’s a health emergency, a job termination, a relationship gone bad, whatever, we are tempted to simply throw up our hands and say, “I’ve had enough, please God, give me a break!”
After living in the Sunrise Ranch spiritual community for 13 years I was asked in 1983 to help form a spiritual center in Cheyenne, Wyoming and assume a job as a radio news reporter. I had no training as a journalist and initially experienced almost constant panic, especially behind a microphone communicating to tens of thousands of people. But somehow I came through it and eventually became news director of the station, doing 15 newscasts a day.
Constant pressure, working 14 hours a day, intense physical, mental and emotional stress. But somehow I found the resources in myself to handle it and emerged after several years at this job in victory. And I learned so much, not just about news work but about myself! This is always the opportunity with a challenging life circumstance—so much learning is possible and what I would call the generation of spiritual substance. The harder the circumstance, the greater the potential for spiritual generation.
And any victory I may have personally achieved was simply deposited in my consciousness in blessing to the world that I center. So is it with anything we personally accomplish. It is all spiritual service to the One we represent on earth and is spread into the consciousness of the body of humanity to inspire, uplift and attune that body more precisely with the True Tone of Life and with the constant flow of good news coming out of the Celestial City.
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
