This Week's Quotation:
“Sacred space is birthed in ongoing love for our Creator. It’s the quiet art of pure presence, even in the midst of chaos. It’s not so much about what we’re doing, but about simply being."
~Christina Pivarnik
Creating Sacred Space

Jerry Kvasnicka, Wired for Love
Actually our entire Earth and the entire universe is sacred. So for us it is not so much a matter of creating sacred space as it is simply acknowledging the sacred space and the sacredness of all life that is already present.
Human beings with their faculty of choice and governed by what I call the “I want syndrome” can violate and even trample upon sacred space. The conflict, corruption, chaos and even the ravages caused by climate change are evidence of this. In our spiritual ignorance we have in large measure profaned and desecrated our precious planet.
So it is a matter of restoring or recreating sacred space. And where does that begin? With you and me of course, for the Earth would be a gem of pristine beauty were it not for human dysfunction. And Christina offers some beautiful suggestions for what we can do.
“Ongoing love for our Creator.” Absolutely! After all, we are here on Earth to represent the Creator. “The quiet art of pure presence.” Yes, the art of living that manifests our pure inner Presence. “Simply being.” It is not difficult. Just being who I AM. Replacing the “I want syndrome” with the “I AM syndrome.”
It can be so simple and practical. Just maintaining a clean and orderly living and workspace. Walking in Nature and blessing the trees and bushes. Recycling. Dietary and exercise habits that maintain the sacredness of our own body. Expressing the highest qualities of character in living. Gathering with others to collectively celebrate the sacredness of Life. In these and other ways let us create and expand sacred space together!
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
Thank you Jerry for this timely reminder that every step we walk is on sacred ground, everything we do is done in sacred presence, and everything expression of our lives either upholds or desecrates the sacredness of our world. Imagine if everyone just tried to bring attention back to that truth as often as possible.
Thank you, Rev. Berry, for your keen awareness of the sacredness of all life and the sacred space you create day-by-day.
Dearest Jerry – what a blessing to read you beautiful views of the life we are given. You are always in my heart.
