This Week's Quotation:
"If men were angels, then no government would be necessary."
~James Madison
Spiritual Government

Jerry Kvasnicka, Wired for Love
There is a wonderful ring of truth in this statement by James Madison, one of the Founding Fathers of United States of America. However, I would note that all men (and women too) are in fact Angels in reality. That is the true nature of every human being on earth.
The need for human government on earth arises because we don’t consistently behave like the Angels we are. An entity some call the human ego or self-active mind gets into the picture and blocks the Angelic Reality from moving through into full expression in human form. Government then is necessary to keep this false entity in check.
I do believe that if all of us behaved like the Angels we inherently are, there would still be a need for government. I would call it Spiritual Government. I don’t know what form it might take, but I think there would be trusted leaders absolutely centered in the Truth of who they are, wisely administering the Creative Process of Life and providing a model of integrity for all to follow.
The question is, how does Spiritual Government come on earth? I spent many years working as the campaign manager for a man who was running for US President and attempting to form a new political party, all with the stated goal of bringing spirituality into politics and government. But it does not come in this way, i.e. trying to bring human ideas of spirituality into existing political structures and institutions.
A wholesale transformation of human consciousness is required. And this occurs as we allow our highest vision of the Truth of Love to flow through our hearts and minds into our everyday living. Spiritual government then penetrates our individual consciousness and spreads into the mass consciousness of humanity. In other words, WE bring it! It comes no other way!
About Open Windows
We, the authors of this blog, dedicate it to the transparent exploration of the world's sacred scripture and enlightened spiritual thought. We believe that the original inspiration of all faiths comes from a common source, named and revered in a myriad of ways. With that understanding, the innumerable symbols, beliefs, and practices of faith cease to divide. They become open windows to a common reality that inspires and unifies us. We find deeper insight and nourishment in our own faith and from the expression of faith from others.
We hope these weekly quotations and meditations speak to your heart and soul.
