With “Rowing Songs for the Night-Sea Journey” Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés invites you to join her for a five-day intensive training in the essential art of storytelling. Dr. Estés unleashed a worldwide renaissance in storytelling that retrieved and offered back to the world the living red heart of personal and archetypal narrative with her international bestselling work Women Who Run With the Wolves. This September in Loveland, Colorado, you will have the opportunity to learn from one of the preeminent storytellers of our time, a one-of-a-kind trailblazer in the field of archetypal and healing stories, and a cantadora (keeper of the old stories in the Latina tradition). Drawing on ethnic oral traditions from her immigrant and refugee family and her rich experience as poet and psychoanalyst, she teaches you how to you can revive storytelling from its flattened, forgotten, and sometimes forbidden place in our culture and return it to its sacred place at the heart of our lives.
Story is the way we communicate with each other, soul to soul. Original Voice in storytelling can be used to cut across cultural and educational boundaries. A mission statement, a love letter, a university lecture, an activist’s manifesto, an artists’ field guide, teaching a child, guiding an adult, helping the souls of others… all of these are a form of story in which we share critical and soulful information with others.
Dr. Estés will help you retrieve your Original Voice and develop a new sense confidence in how you carry your stories, how you place them in the world, for your own understanding, and in order to help others understand something of great importance.

I am very interested in attending this workshop by Dr. Estes but your dates listed are different. One for Sept and one for Oct. Could you please clarify the actual dates?

Hi Steve, This event Rowing Songs for the Night-Sea Journey was offered in 2012. This year, 2013, Dr. Estes is offering an event in June Mysterium: Psychology… in the Truest Sense of the Word and in SeptemberOriginal Voice Training; both events are on our calendar. Thanks for the inquiry.

I had the same confusion that Stve S. did. And, also felt called to attend. (too bad we were both a year late) Might there be a CD set coming out with this title?
