New growth in the greenhouse

The garden team has been working hard to plant seeds and begin food production in the greenhouse. The sprouting plants will be transplanted into the garden in the next few weeks. It won’t be long before the seedlings become salad bar items in the Sunrise Ranch kitchen! Green house March2014 4

Public butchery class with Chef Ace and Rocky Mountain Institute of Meat

If you missed the last beef butchering class at Sunrise Ranch, now’s your chance to getace_butchering-338x600 some exposure to the art and craft of meat processing. On April 19, our Culinary Academy and Rocky Mountain Institute of Meat (RMIM) will team up again to offer another one-day public class—this time, demonstrating hog butchery. The April 19 class runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and costs $200 (including lunch and a few pounds of take-home meat per person). Go here to register for a public culinary class, or call Sunrise Ranch at 970-679-4200. Read more about the class here.

Chef Joel and Ace explore more seafood options for Sunrise Ranch

From Chef Ace: “Last Friday [March 28], Chef Joelseattle_fish2_338x600 and I went to Denver for the day. We were invited to a food distribution company to talk about possibilities with them. One of the biggest highlights of the day was our tour of Seattle Fish Company, which is based out of Denver. We were able to go in and see their warehouse. We watched products come in, get cleaned and hit with ice, then sorted as well as fabricated. We were also able to watch how the product goes out the door to customers. We’re excited about this because Seattle Fish Company takes pride on their sustainable fishing practices. They’re very selective in whom they work with on the oceans and very selective in what fish come in their doors. The company itself is also sustainable, a leader in the industry…it’s a very cool thing and we’re excited about the possibilities of bringing more fish to our menu!”

Pasta Making with Chef Amber Donaldson

Amber-Pasta3

Fresh pasta appears on more and more restaurant menus lately. The soft, doughy texture and old-world charm provides a welcome contrast to dry, boxed noodles. More than a flavor fad, fresh pasta signifies something important making a comeback: cooking from scratch.

Not only does cooking from scratch imply more fresh, whole food ingredients, but it encourages families to spend time preparing meals together. This is what inspired Sous Chef Amber Donaldson to provide a public pasta-making class through Sunrise Ranch Culinary Academy. Click HERE to read more.

An Attunement Message, from The Pulse of Spirit
Jane Anetrini
February 24, 2014

The Attunement School has been in session for the past three days. Through my teaching in this time, and in the practice we have done, I have been working with patterns with people. I have had these few words running through my mind as I did:
You are whole.
You are holy.
You are the manifestation of love.
You are magnificent.
Can you hear those words from me and know it is true of you? You are whole. You are holy. You are the instrument and manifestation of love. You are magnificent.

Primal Spirituality at the Core of Sunrise Ranch

Sunrise Ranch is one of the oldest intentional communities in the country.  It was established in 1945 as the headquarters for Emissaries of Divine Light. The Emissaries teach Primal Spirituality—the spirituality that human beings experience at birth and which ideally blossoms and grows as a person matures. Primal Spirituality is our innate knowing of Universal Being within ourselves and other people, and within all Creation. It is spirituality that transcends religious belief or spiritual practice and offers an experience of direct knowing.

Educational Opportunities in Practical Spirituality, Culinary Arts and Farm/Garden

Are you interested in a greater experience of physical and spiritual well-being? Sunrise Ranch has a legacy of teaching and demonstrating conscious living and community cooperation. Nourish yourself with good, wholesome food and your body will feel vitalized and vibrant. Nourish your mind and soul with teachings of truth and love, and your life will take on new meaning, joy and purpose.

The educational programs at Sunrise Ranch assist people to develop wisdom of the heart, enlightened thought, and healthy physical bodies. Our motto is Whole Person—Whole World.  We welcome people regardless of race, color, sexual orientation, national origin or religious faith.

Sunrise Ranch has been hosting programs, classes and work/study opportunities under the direction of truth and love since its early pioneering days. An experiment of conscious people living together harmoniously and with intention has sustained over generations and produced a thriving community. Join us at Sunrise Ranch for one of our three 7-month holistic living and educational programs, beginning mid-April.

Full Self Emergence is a residential internship focused on practical spirituality and enlightened living within the context of a supportive intentional community. It teaches a person to use powerful spiritual principles in their life and to open more fully to their inner voice and calling. There will be weekly classes and study groups, as well as transformational week-long intensives during the duration of the program.

This work/study program is designed to aid individuals to define their purpose and challenge their limitations. Through the residential nature of this internship, you’ll receive the opportunity to engage with and contribute to community life. You’ll become part of a team that welcomes diversity and honors noble creativity. Participants cultivate their innate strengths and talents to perform job functions and assist with essential roles within the community, while developing important life skills.

Farm/Garden is a residential work/study program perfect for those interested in horticulture, animal husbandry, or those who feel a close connection to the land, plants and animals. You’ll perform fulfilling work and learn trade skills that assist the community and its immediate landscape to sustain and thrive. You’ll learn pasture and livestock management on the diverse multi-species farm, while practicing sustainability with rotational and mob grazing.

Interns also learn coordinated irrigation techniques that are applied in the large organic vegetable garden and greenhouse on property. This year, Sunrise Ranch plans to install a new 15,000-square-foot greenhouse with hydroponics, providing hands-on experience with alternative gardening methods.

Permaculture Design Course is an 80-hour intensive taught at Sunrise Ranch from April 2-11. This course is a highly valuable educational tool and would be a perfect prelude to a Farm/Garden internship.

Sunrise Ranch Culinary Academy is an educational culinary arts program that focuses on farm-to-table practices, scratch cooking and applied nutrition. Students develop a holistic relationship with food, thanks to the on-site farm, vegetable gardens, permaculture fruit orchard and herb garden.

As a student, you will learn nutritional theory and culinary principles in the classroom, while receiving on-the-job practicum, ranging from knife skills and flavor combinations to menu and meal preparation. APPLY NOW FOR THE SUNRISE RANCH PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE

Located on 360 acres in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, we maintain a legacy of sustainability, organic farming and land stewardship since 1945. We implement bio-intensive and permaculture principles in our organic vegetable and herb gardens as well as our fruit orchard, which produces apples, pears, apricots, cherries, peaches and plums.

We practice holistic agriculture management on our diverse multi-species farm with grass-fed cattle, pastured chickens, Nigerian dwarf goats, pigs, ducks, geese, wild turkeys, and horses. We teach animal husbandry, pasture and livestock management, rotational and mob grazing, coordinated irrigation techniques, water treatment and processing, green architecture and general sustainability practices.

We host an entire farm-to-table curriculum that includes our farm and garden program, as well as a Culinary Academy that creates delicious gourmet meals that cater to all types of specialty diets. We are also an intentional community and conscious retreat and conference center, so there are always activities and opportunities for interaction available, including a 4-day conscious music festival held on-property every August—Arise Music Festival.

Farm to Table with Sunrise Ranch, by Gary Goodhue

Farm to Table with Sunrise Ranch

Hurrah! for farmers’ markets and local food producers! Consumers are becoming more aware and educated about their food and the importance of nutrition. The farm-to-table movement consists of eating local and seasonal food right from the ground or pasture to your plate. Gathering food from the source ensures the freshest quality of meats and produce available. It’s about scratch cooking and using whole, raw foods for the ingredients in your meal. The age of the consumer is now and the farm-to-table movement is on the rise.

Emissaries of Divine Light (EDL)

Excerpt from The Pulse of Spirit:  Reclaim Your Primal Spirituality David Karchere Pulse of Spirit - The Cosmic Mother

We are each born with an innate, intuitive knowing of the Being within all Creation. We are born with that innate and intuitive knowing of ourselves and other people, all of nature and all of Creation. Children have that innate understanding without having to be taught or told.

As I reflect back on my own childhood, I remember how that awareness pervaded my life. I would bet that we each have those kinds of memories. One memory I recall is being read the Thornton Burgess nature books, very beautiful stories of the creatures of the woodlands. There was reference to Mother Nature, who was a character in the story. It certainly did not take any belief on my part to understand who Mother Nature was. It was my own innate, intuitive knowing that easily accepted that there was a spirit surrounding all the woodland creatures and all of nature that cared for them—Mother Nature.

Balance and Inner Peace – December 2013 Newsletter

Sunrise Ranch - Peace fills the Valley

“Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

Dear Sunrise Friends and Family,

This time of year is a great time for introspection and inner peace. As we go into December, many people around the world celebrate a time of rebirth and renewal. It’s easy for us to get caught up in the busyness of all the celebrations and gift-giving, forgetting that this is a natural time for rest and peace, as well as being the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere. As with the land, there is a regenerative cycle to re-calibrate and restore. For some people it feels like a sad time. It is the darkest time, literally, as we head to the shortest day of the year. Being quiet and still is a natural thing to do. It’s a great time to expand internally, to review the past year with gratitude, and to welcome the possibilities in the new year. These activities are balanced with the Summer Solstice in the southern hemisphere, a more active and thriving time. It is good to be connected to all of it through our friends around the world.

Being “at peace” is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious. Peace of mind is generally associated with bliss, happiness and contentment. Peace of mind, serenity and calmness are descriptions of a way of being free from the effects of stress. In some cultures, inner peace is considered a high state of consciousness or enlightenment that may be cultivated by various forms of training, such as prayer, meditation, T’ai Chi Ch’uan or yoga. Many spiritual practices refer to this peace as an experience of knowing oneself.

Here is a wonderful song of gratitude and peace…

Peace, words by Martin Exeter and music by PenDell Pittman

We wish you all a wonderful, spirit-filled holiday, full of gratitude and blessings,

Your friends at Sunrise Ranch

The Magic of Music by Jerry Kvasnicka

The Magic of Music

I don’t know the name of the selection or the pianist performing it. When the simple jazz improvisation came over my radio one afternoon, almost instinctively I activated my cassette recorder. Since that day I have played the piece often. The notes are clear and sparkling, the chords rich and evocative, the melody delightfully elusive and a bit bewitching, the overall texture sublimely smooth. It resonates with a deeper tone of my being and seems to play out the times and seasons of my entire life span. At once calming and quickening, meditative and provocative, it unfailingly induces a spiritual experience in the finest sense of this term.

Excerpt from The Pulse of Spirit:  The Cosmic Mother ~

David Karchere Pulse of Spirit - The Cosmic Mother

The Cosmic Mother is the female principle throughout creation. The Cosmic Mother holds all Her children. In Her, all is conceived and all is born and grows. And in a human life, that principle is at work in so many ways.We have responsibility for honoring and embodying the Cosmic Mother, whether we are a man or a woman. Women hold the first womb for us all, the physical womb in which the child is conceived and grows, and out of which the child is finally born. But we have the experience throughout our lives that there is a surround that either provides for growth and development and nourishment, or is faulty in some way. There is the surround of family, the surround of school and community, and then the surround of institutions of higher learning; the surround of organization; and ultimately the surround of the world. We are not only consumers of that surround. We are creating it.

David Karchere at Whole Man Expo ~ David delivered the keynote address to an enthralled audience at the 3rd Annual Whole Man Expo on November 10 in Denver, CO. He is the spiritual director at Sunrise Ranch, a 68-year-old spiritual community; David’s address was entitled Creating Thriving Community. His passion and profound sense of purpose came through powerfully as he spoke about the importance of wholeness  as the foundation for a spiritually regenerated and consciously aware world. “Whole person, Whole Community, Whole World.” David shared ways in which people can live their convictions and take inspired action to serve in their neighborhoods and extended communities.

Joel Salatin at Sunrise Ranch ~ Can we feed the World? HOW CAN WE AFFORD IT? These were two of the topics that Joel spoke about at The Dome on November 8th. Joel was lively, funny and thought-provoking, as he spoke about what Americans love to buy, while challenging the very assumptions of a cheap-food policy. His passionate energy for a healthy world came through, following a wonderfully nutritious and delicious Farm-to-Table meal that Chef Joel and our Culinary Academy team prepared for supper! The answer to the question “Can we feed the world?” is a resounding YES! Buying unprocessed food and being able to prepare, package and preserve at home are key ingredients to eating healthy food at a lower cost. Joel exhibits his courage as he addresses the externalized, unrecognized, undocumented costs of industrial food and the unfair playing field created by subsidy programs. His main focus is on local solutions that are available to everyone.

Spreading the Light by Jerry Kvasnicka

Spreading the Light

Submitted by Dylan Leigh

Hello, I attended your Arise music festival and got way more than I was expecting. Sitting under the willow trees by the Dome after a long night and beautiful sunrise, I had a conversation with the light. Then a security guard named Gabriel spoke with me and confirmed that the conversation I had was as “real” as I needed it to be.

I thought this feeling would end once I left the ranch and for a moment I hoped it would. The weekend continued: fun, dancing, learning, growth, expansion, and transformation all ensued. But this feeling is growing and the light is spreading through me to the world.

I am the student body president of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and am using my position to spread light. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you all. During service in the Dome on Sunday, I met David Karchere. We hugged each other and I made a sacred obligation to never give up, and as he said “no matter what.” Thanks, I would love to visit you again and help with anything ya’ll are doing. If nothing else, I hope you hear my story and can see your ripples spreading. Drop me a line anytime. (drleigh@fortlewis.edu)

Excerpt from The Pulse of Spirit:  Being Fully Present ~

What really has my full attention today is Presence, just being fully here. Recently we Ruth Buckinghamwere considering the feeling experience of solitude. This has to do with being present, fully aware of all the thoughts and feelings going on inside oneself. It has to do with being in Being and just being fully surrendered to the moment.

In thinking about what I might share this morning, these words came to me:

I come as a voice from ages past.
I come to bring comfort and solace—
but not before I have rearranged every cell in your body!

We cannot live fully in that place of Being without everything we thought we knew being rearranged. And coming to that shiny new place, we recognize it as home.

Honoring Universal Being

Honoring Universal Being

Many people attending a picnic

The Philosophy of Sunrise Ranch

Sunrise Ranch honors Universal Being in all its forms—through people, through nature and through all creation. We see this attitude of honor for Universal Being as the pivotal factor for the future of humanity.

Most of all, we honor and welcome the expression of Universal Being through ourselves. We believe that this orientation in living is what opens the door for a full knowing of the wisdom and love that is within everyone. It is what lets the individual give their greatest gift to the world and know the greatest fulfillment that is possible for a human being.

All of Sunrise Ranch is dedicated as a teaching and demonstration site for this essential wisdom—both the inner knowing of Universal Being and the practical application of that knowing. This is why we practice and teach sustainable agriculture and farm-to-table food preparation. This is what is behind all the workshops, conferences, concerts and courses that we offer. This is what we teach in our internship programs and in all our courses for spiritual awakening and personal development. Sunrise Ranch exists to embody this truth and to bring it to the world.

We believe that Universal Being is doing its best to incarnate and express fully through each person, not as a separate reality but as the core reality of who they are. And when it does, that person becomes whole and creates wholeness in their world. They bring healing to the land, to other people and to the planet. Whole people—whole world.

This is what allows our individual worlds to thrive. This is why Sunrise Ranch is flourishing. And it is the experience of this simple, profound truth that will let Planet Earth become the garden home that it is destined to become.

To us, this is not just a nice idea but a guiding principle to be embodied in everything we do. If you agree, we welcome you to join with us in bringing this experience to the world.

Restoring the Cross of Life by Jerry Kvasnicka

Restoring the Cross of Life

Long before the cross was appropriated by Christianity and associated with the crucifixion, this ancient symbol had an entirely different meaning and significance. A human being with arms outstretched may be seen as a cross, a cross which symbolizes the creative process that men and women were put on earth to administer. The area above the horizontal pole represents the heaven or invisible realm of Spirit, and the area below represents the earth or visible realm of form. Human beings were creatively designed to be at the point where the two poles, vertical and horizontal, intersect, i.e. the “crossover point,” where they are in position to bring the essences of heaven into manifest form on earth.

Emissaries of Divine Light (EDL)

Excerpt from The Pulse of SpiritFull Self Engagement ~

Let me speak to you of my experience of emerging into timelessness through a passageway of terror. The terror closes in when we find ourselves in solitude, sensing a range of blessing already present for us to give, but not knowing how to release it. And we tend to project the knowing and the power onto somebody else.

In my early life, that somebody was my elder brother, who had a potential of leadership that could have been vast, but who instead was caught up in a happening called the Second World War. His potential turned to leadership in battle, because that was what had to be done. And when I was eight years old, I got word that his tank had been blown up at Torrice Crossroads on the road to Rome. And I took myself out of the dance.

I’d been a happy child—I had been “Jimmie’s little baby brother.” Even letters sent from the battle front came always with a PS: “And how’s Jimmie’s little baby brother?” So I was in the dance because I adored the greatness that I saw in my brother Jim. At eight years old I took myself out of the dance. Oh, I went on living—I went on doing the natural things one does. I went to college and got a job, and managed to survive this way and that. But I was out of the dance, the dance of Universal Being.

SEPTEMBER 2013 Newsletter

Hello, Everyone…

The Sun is Shining at Sunrise Ranch!

After a week of flooding and constant rain, we are returning to the normal 300 days of sunshine that is normal for Colorado. Throughout the storm we at Sunrise Ranch were all safe and well.  The sunshine has returned and we are fortunate that there was no major flood damage to our property.

Sunrise Ranch in the Sunshine

The Sun Shines on Sunrise Ranch. We are Dry and Well!

(after much rain and flooding in the surrounding area)

We have great compassion for our neighbors and others  in the surrounding area who have been impacted by the flood.  We celebrate the courageous and caring spirit of the people of Colorado, who are pulling together and assisting those who are in need. We know it will take a major effort to restore the infrastructure in the state in the months and years to come. We are grateful for those who are leading that effort.

We were sorry that Joel Salatin was unable to make it to Sunrise Ranch, due to the storm.  We were able to notify all those who registered, and we hope to reschedule Joel for another time. Please stay tuned for updates on that.

We are currently welcoming guests!  We have road access from Loveland, Fort Collins and DIA.  Super Shuttle has resumed service and is bringing our Guests to and from DIA.

 Surge Protectors by Jerry Kvasnicka
The vibrational current moving on Planet Earth is intensifying; there can be little doubt about this for those who are attuned to it. I believe a particular intensification occurred when we moved through the portal that opened on December 21, 2012. Though it didn’t bring, as some thought it might, some kind of instant apocalypse or series of cataclysms, I believe it did impact the collective consciousness of humanity in such a way that the human state of self-centeredness and materialistic orientation is now being phased out. This intensification has its power source in unconditional love, and it is as if an electrical charge from this source is being shot into the body of mankind.

Emissaries of Divine Light (EDL)

Excerpt from The Pulse of Spirit: The Realm of Angels ~ What is possible for a person and what is potential in this world may seem to be a dream relating to some future time. What is possible may seem to be nonexistent, something that might take form here one day in the world as it is. But when we touch real possibility or potential, we are not just touching something that could manifest here. We are sensing an already-existing reality at another level of being. There is an already-existing glory. There is truth and beauty before it ever manifests in the world that is perceptible by our senses. This realm of potential holds the essence of what could manifest in physical form.    Click HERE to read more

We have just completed another exciting month at Sunrise Ranch! For eight days we welcomed Jonathan Goldman (and his lovely wife, Andi) with a hundred friends for the 18th Annual Healing Sounds gathering. The Sunrise community was invited to attend some evening sessions, enjoying music, chant and movement. What a week!

What an exciting week here at Sunrise Ranch, with the Arise Festival just finished; it was held August 14-18. This was not your typical music festival! It was a Transformational Festival, with an awareness of the ecological and spiritual implications of such a gathering.  Approximately 5,000 came to share in this time, with over 100 bands, many vendors, independent filmmakers, artists, environmental activists (including actress Daryl Hannah, Julia Butterfly Hill), and others. The featured musical guest was Michael Franti and Spearhead, offering the Saturday night concert, which included children on stage with Michael. The valley was rocking! Special thanks to Chefs Joel, Amber and Ace, who not only fed several hundred Arise staff and our community but also cooked food for the Sunrise Food Booth. The fields were filled with colorful tents and attendees, along with constant vibrant music. This is the largest event we have ever hosted and it was a delight for community residents to work with Paul Bassis and Tierro Lee (co-producers of Arise) and staff to make this inaugural festival a great success! We plan to host the Arise Festival for another six years!
We look forward to welcoming you here at Sunrise Ranch during this vibrant summer season!

Anger: What Shall I Do With It?

by Jerry Kvasnicka There is a long-standing and ongoing controversy in psychological circles that goes something like this: Is it better to express or not to express feelings of anger? Will venting my anger provide much needed relief and restore my sense of balance and well-being? If I have a serious problem with anger, is this a constructive approach that will allow me to manage it?

The Blue Sky and Double Rainbows of Life

Blue Sky Atmosphere of Sunrise Ranch

Blue Sky atmosphere of Sunrise Ranch

Hello lovely people,

We just completed our five-day Thriving Community Program and think tank, which was a gathering of community leaders from various intentional communities. We opened the doors, hearts and wise ways of Sunrise Ranch to a group of wonderful people who shared their vision and hopefulness for a better humanity through a thriving community reality. It was truly a “Blue Sky” experience for the participants, as well as for all of us at Sunrise Ranch. Ideas and new frontiers were explored together for the new era of humanity that is evolving. This was a rare and beautiful opportunity to learn from our community, which has nurtured thriving for more than 67 years.

Thriving Community Program Sunrise Ranch

Inaugural Class: Thriving Community Program—Sunrise Ranch 2013

This class was an expose on the loving womb of consciousness that is created when a group of people come together for a fundamental common purpose and intention: to create a life affirming atmosphere of health, love, acceptance and higher consciousness. Interestingly enough, at the end of the class we were engulfed with a beautiful physical and energetic reminder of what an intentional community is all about…a double rainbow over Sunrise Ranch!  How perfect!

Permaculture Garden

If you have visited the ranch lately, you may have seen a noisy pack of little brown ducks waddling around. These Khaki Campbell ducks are helping mitigate the impact of grasshoppers on our garden, as the ducks find these and other insects very tasty. Fortunately for us, they especially love to eat mosquitoes! In keeping with our no herbicides or insecticides policy, we have been using diatomaceous earth applications to keep down the flea beetles. Diatomaceous earth is naturally occurring, soft sedimentary rock from fossilized remains of algae. It provides beneficial trace minerals, including silicon dioxide, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, sodium, boron, manganese, copper and zirconium.

Anther boost we give to our growing vegetables is comfrey tea. Comfrey is a “miner plant,” which means it sends a tap root deep into the earth to reach the rich minerals 10 feet or more below the surface. These minerals are drawn up into their leaves. To make a healthy bath for our other vegetables, these leaves are harvested and soaked in water. This water is then spread over the garden to disburse the nutrients that otherwise wouldn’t be available. The comfrey leaves are also used as compost.

We have been harvesting carrots, beets, tomatoes, peas, spinach and lettuce. The farm-to-table meals these days are practically instantaneous! Our corn went in the ground in mid-May and was indeed knee-high by the Fourth of July. Our second planting of peas will be under way this month.

We have over a dozen interns helping in the garden and on the ranch this summer. On any given day they are weeding, harvesting and planting. The weeding is an ongoing battle, but the interns were pleased when the whole community came out to help weed one morning last week. Our six large grey geese are helping out too by nibbling at the pesky grasses that will take over if left unchecked.

We’ll soon be in the process of getting the fall crops started. Cauliflower, broccoli and brussels sprouts have been growing in seed trays in the greenhouses and are almost ready to go into the ground.

Rachel Morrison, Outreach Manager – Wanderlust Colorado

We had a wander-filled event at Wanderlust Colorado…led by our Outreach Manager, Rachel Morrison, and staffed by Gary Goodhue, Michael Costello, Joel Navejas, and Robby Robbins. We made hundreds of good contacts throughout the 4th of July weekend and shared attunement with many new people.

There were over a thousand attendees, and everyone was offered a great invitation by Joel Salatin (Keynote Speaker at Wanderlust Colorado) to come and be at his talk at Sunrise Ranch on September 13, 2013.

Wanderlust is a one-of-a-kind festival, bringing together the world’s leading yoga teachers, top musical acts and DJs, renowned speakers, top chefs and winemakers, and much, much more—all in a setting of breathtaking natural beauty. It’s all about sustainable and conscious and mindful living, fun in the sun and dancing under the stars.

Using the Media to Enlarge and Bless Your World

by Jerry Kvasnicka

How large is your world? I’m not talking about the big ball of rock, dirt and water on which we all live. I am referring to your world—the people, places and events that are included in your own consciousness. How far does this world extend? To yourself, of course, and undoubtedly to your immediate family, close friends and relatives. Probably also to your home neighborhood, your school or place of work, and if you live in a spiritual community as I do, to the environment, people and activities of the community. But does your world include much beyond this?

Excerpt from The Pulse of Spirit: “Here is a question to ponder if you are interested in knowing greater joy and creativity in your life. You may not have thought about your experience this way, but the question may lead you into a new flow of spiritual current. So here is the question: Are you struggling with your Creator?”

Summer at Sunrise

sunrise-ranch-branding

After the late snow in May, June in the valley is greener than ever! Flowers abound, birds are singing, and both residents and guests of Sunrise Ranch are enjoying watching the horned owl family in the trees next to the Dome!

Sunrise was proud to welcome back Neale Donald Walsch and Barbara Marx Hubbard for The Humanity’s Team Spiritual Leadership Award Ceremony on Memorial Day. Their event was hosted in our Dome and it was wonderful to hear both Neale and Barbara speak at the ceremony in which Barbara received the Spiritual Leadership Award.

The Ranch is bustling with guests, wonderful events, and new interns arriving.  Later this month we will be hosting our own Life Field Conference; in July we will be hosting the Thriving Community Program, and preparations are well under way for our hosting of the Arise Music Festival in August.

Our own David Karchere will be returning home later this month from Australia, where he and Maureen Waller are spending two weeks!  They have become quite the world travelers this year, presenting our EDL programs worldwide on several continents!

We have invited the world…and the world is coming! We hope that you’ll come visit and join us for one of these spectacular events this summer!

Culinary Academy at Sunrise Ranch

Culinary Academy enjoyed a couple of guest speakers recently. Dr. Michael Gaeta had a great presentation on Nourishing the Body Temple. His class basically answers the question why we are farm-to-table. Mr. Jim Kaus, from Whole Foods market, stopped by to show us the various meat cuts fabricated from a whole side of local and sustainable pig. The students also had the opportunity to make spinach-asiago sausages from scratch!

20130303Thriving Community Program4

This summer’s Thriving Community Program (July 8-12) allows you to live in an intentional community and discover ways to boost your career, business and relationships as you boost your whole community.

Our five-day Thriving Community program and think tank gathers community leaders from various intentional communities and opens the doors, hearts and wise ways of Sunrise Ranch. This is a rare and beautiful opportunity, in the cool Colorado Rockies, to learn from a community that has nurtured thriving for more than 67 years.

In this think tank for thriving, you’ll discover how happy happens.

This is the first time Sunrise Ranch is opening up to share all of its wisdom and ways.

These five-day programs include David Karchere, Peter McGugan, Foster Gamble, Chef Joel Navejas, Patrick Padden, Dr. Jane Anetrini and Maureen Waller as facilitators.

You’ll have time to explore the Sunrise Ranch community—from the permaculture gardens to the farm-to-table organic kitchen; you can also connect with the hearts of people who thrive here.

Don’t miss this open-door, open-heart opportunity to feel how a happy intentional community sustains itself.  CLICK HERE for more information and to register!…

Surge Protectors, by Jerry Kvasnicka
The vibrational current moving on Planet Earth is intensifying; there can be little doubt about this for those who are attuned to it. I believe a particular intensification occurred when we moved through the portal that opened on December 21, 2012. Though it didn’t bring, as some thought it might, some kind of instant apocalypse or series of cataclysms, I believe it did impact the collective consciousness of humanity in such a way that the human state of self-centeredness and materialistic orientation is now being phased out.  CLICK HERE to read more

There is no question about the fact that we are living in a time of intensity—there is no rationalizing that one away. It’s very apparent with the strange weather patterns.
