What Do You Value This 4th of July, 2012?

Submitted by Linda Haupt

How can we live a just life when there are false systems of value?  No wonder we human beings don’t get along.  Varied systems of value cause conflict and nobody understands anybody else.  We mess with stuff too much.  Nature is showing us how we have taken undue advantage of our dear Gaia.  Catastrophic climate changes and natural disasters are an everyday occurrence.  What do we humans do?  We make value-less perceptions and judgments.  We find a person, an organization, a spouse, a company, someone or something to blame.  This creates separation big time.  We live in isolation because of our belief systems – self imposed as well as those based in familial and societal “shoulds”.  No wonder we are lonely!

How much longer are we going to lie and deny?  How much longer are we going to live a self-centered existence, where it is all about doing and getting.

I don’t know about you but I am ready for that SHIFT in consciousness.  If we don’t wake up soon there is going to be nothing to wake up for.  The fires in Colorado have been intense and rains and winds are in the east.  Talk about out of balance.  Nature is just being  herself.  When the clouds get heavy, she rains.  When the beetle kill needs to be taken care of, she takes care of it.  No endless hours of meetings.  No brain storming.  She just expresses the truth and the job gets done.

I search for the true value on earth. Life on earth wasn’t meant to be an over abundance of stuff and addictions to bodily concerns.  Where and when did we lose our drive for creative fulfillment?  The animal kingdom knows better.  Nature can only express the truth.  We humans drain ourselves with overstimulation, overspending, and overdoing.  Not so the birds.

Birds Don’t Brag About Flying
-by:Tukaram-

 Birds

don’t brag about flying

the way we do.

They don’t write books about it and then give

workshops,

They don’t take on disciples and spoil

their own air

time.

Who could dance and achieve

                                     liftoff with a bunch of

wackos tugging

on you?

Does it seem of value to differentiate between what is Human Nature and God’s Nature?  It does for me.  When I allow love, truth and life to come through me, I am filled with God and I will never be alone.  It is wildly authentic to be God-centered instead of self-centered.  It is better to give than receive.  Instead of feeling life is short-lived, it becomes eternal.  Instead of living in isolation, freedom reigns.  Make this 4th of July a memorable one of true value.

Linda is a retired Special Needs School Teacher. Her mission in teaching was to provide the space for each student to see their magnificence rather than what was perceived as wrong. While living in rural Maine, she held spiritual retreats. Her peaceful cottage by the sea was a perfect place to be shared with others. Here she provided a place to be still and encouraged all to see the wonderful one within. In March of 2011, she moved to Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado and enjoys sharing time with parents in Maine and sons in Colorado. She entered the Full Self-Emergence Program at Sunrise Ranch. She also studies with her spiritual teacher Megan Don. Going on pilgrimages and walking in the shoes of the Mystics has helped Linda to find her innocence and let go of the stories of past experience. In 2011, she was blessed to visit The Findhorn Community and the island of Iona in Scotland. Linda loves travel, both in person and via photography via her brother’s God given talent and vision on chuckhaupt.com. When she isn’t on the Front Desk in Guest Services at the Ranch you will find her moving-dancing, hiking, drumming, or swinging in her hammock “with the Beloved”.
