A Retreat follow-up as suggested at Women in American Buddhism Conference in Denver 2009
Hosted by Longmont Buddhist Temple and Buddhist Churches of America
Take a break and engage in meditation practices, discussions, and reflections with women spiritual leaders from various Buddhist lineages. Share your life experiences in the context of Buddhist teachings as we explore issues from self-care to death and dying. Together we will create a container for contemplation – without distraction or interruption.
Schedule
November 6 –Friday
Come early and relax in the beauty of Sunrise Ranch. Register at 4:30 p.m. Retreat begins with dinner and opening ceremony.
November 7 – Saturday
A full day and evening of Buddhist practices will focus on care of self and care of others.
November 8 – Sunday
Morning practices will connect us to oneness and end with a closing ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
Retreat Leaders
- Rev. Carol O’Dowd, MPA, M.Div., Longmont Buddhist Temple is an ordained Buddhist priest and a certified Mindfulness Instructor. She shares Shin Buddhist teachings and offers training for working and living constructively.
- Giovannina Jobson, M.A., Naropa University, is on the Religious Studies faculty at Naropa University and is an authorized Meditation Instructor and Buddhist minister (Upadhayaya) ordained in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage.
- Grace Foster-Pollard, D. Min., is a Spiritual Director, authorized Meditation Instructor, contemplative Sandplay psychotherapist and brush calligrapher.
Cost
Registration fee for the retreat is $69 to Longmont Buddhist Temple.
Six meals and choice of room varies from a 4 person dorm room to a single room. Contact Sunrise Ranch.
